to absolutely LOVE raw potatoes?
I have been eating them since I was a child and I really do love them sprinkled with a little salt. I don't cook potatoes very often these days but last night I made almost mashed potatoes and started munching on the raw cut up potatoes while I was waiting for the water to boil and I couldn't get enough.
I am thinking about having more today for lunch.
Is it weird or do you share my love for raw potatoes?

The damage is done.
Yesterday I fell off the (no shopping) wagon in a big way. I did some serious damage to our bank account and I'm OK with that. Well, I was OK with it until this morning when I received our electric bill for November.
$485
Ouch. It's not even winter yet! What is our bill going to look like in January? Not to mention we will also have a ginormous propane bill.
Electric is expensive and not nearly as fun as J.Crew.
But essential and I am thankful we have it when so many do not. Which brings me to a question that I am embarrassed I do not ask myself more often.
What can I do to make a difference?
What do you do?

I heart NYC
I travelled to NY this weekend and I didn't set foot into a store. Is that sad or what?
I went to visit one of my bffs who just had a baby and it was raining on Saturday so we couldn't venture out. Her babe is just 7 months old and it's no fun to haul around the city in the rain.
Know what I mean?
I am so happy for my friend. She married less than 2 years ago and had her first baby in May and he's as cute as cute can be. I realized though that our annual girl's trip to NY will forever be different though. No more shopping and champagne all day every day! We did a have a fabulous meal Saturday night - we went to a cute little French restaurant for awesome mussels. And then Sunday we went to Isabella's for brunch - they allow strollers (rare for NY I understand) and then tooled around the flea market across the street.
And then Monday I attending a conference for work... blah blah blah.
Boring post, I know. I am even boring myself as I type. I'll stop now.

hey y'all...
I seem to have lost my motivation.
If you find it will you send it back to me in Annapolis?
I have stuff to do and without my motivation I can't get anything done!

Jim Carrey's A Christmas Carol

Friday night we took Michael and 4 of his friends out for pizza and then to see Disney's A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey in 3-D to celebrate his 8th birthday which is this week.
First, let me say the movie was OK. Good special effects. Funny at times - the ghost of Christmas past was hilarious. But the movie was scary. A little too scary for PG in my opinion. Kids liked it. Two stars max from me though.
Second, eight year old boys have WAY too much energy for me. I'm so thankful I have just one boy and a girl to balance out that energy. And tell me - what's the fascination with burping? My son rarely burps on purpose out loud and if he does he will excuse himself. So why did he start doing it while with his buds? And why did it become a competition to see who could do it louder? And what is so funny about a burp. Personally, I think it's gross.
Third, how mortified was I when a mother of one of the boys in our neighborhood came into the movie theatre with her son and sat right in front of us. We didn't invite the boy and it was obvious he wasn't invited to Michael's birthday party especially after Michael announced it was his birthday party! I wanted to hide under the seats. Awful business right there. I'm thinking about calling her to apologize.
Finally, I hate sleepovers. My daughter had a sleepover for her 8th birthday so of course my son had to have one too. At least he didn't puke at midnight like she did!

Not so skinny alert!
I was feeding my sickness today on jcrew.com and I noticed something odd about one of the J.Crew models online. She was not super skinny and she has a butt!
Could it be J.Crew is realizing there are all shapes and sizes of women who enjoy their clothes?
Or could it be a sign to NOT to buy the Dream Meribel tunic dress because if you are not super skinny you are going to LOOK heavier than you actually are?
See? Skinny but not super skinny.
.
.
Is that a butt I see? Oh, wait and there are boobs too!
Yup, that's a butt I see.

Just when I thought it was safe...
...our neighbor delivered two more boxes of tagalongs that my husband ordered last month.
I instructed Lilly to hide the boxes from me. She did. I found them.
Basically my diet this week has been tagalongs, water and celery. Great.

It's a conspiracy.
Do you know what this is?

It's the devil disguised as a cookie.
.
And - sadly it's that time of year again. The time of year when cute little girls dressed in green or brown smile sweetly up at me as I try to get in and out of the grocery store and ask if I'd like to support their troop.
.
Why not just say no? It's not possible. The Girl Scout Tagalong is my favorite cookie of all time. And I am weak.
.
.
Oh I try. But they are too smart for me.
.
I've walked in one door of the grocery store and say, "I'll buy on my way out -I promise!" And then try to exit through another door only to run into another group of girls.
.
If by chance I have managed to escape the grocery store without buying a single box, I will end up running into a daughter of someone I know who is selling my drug of choice. They were even camped out in front of Marshalls last year!
.
It's a damn conspiracy I tell you.
.
2 cookies = 150 calories.
.
I had 10 of them for breakfast this morning. (Yes - trust me it IS possible!)
.
10 cookies = 75% of my caloric intake for the day.
.
Basically I will be eating celery for lunch and dinner today.
